Hello I'm Nikki Toong, and I've been working freelance since 2010. I've done alot of projects, such as article writing, logo making, Web banners, ads, as well as business flyers and cards. I began infographs in Feb 2013 and it's been a roller coster of success from then. Thanks to sites like Fiverr and to reccomendations from and by friends and previous clients. I've gotten a pretty steady crew of loyal customers. I've gotten more good reviews than bad, and people come back, so I must be doing something right.
I lived in Anaheim,California most of my life and returned to my home country, Philippines with my parents in 2005. It was fun adjustment for a fresh Cali girl, who hardly knows anything about her culture as well as her language. But 8 years later here, I am enjoying tempura and siomai to my heart's content and traveling around in jeepneys like a boss. When the peso rate is 43 to dollar, I can live quite well in this country. Especially when I'm earning internationally.
In terms of formal education, I'm a fine arts granduate with a major in painting from the University of San Carlos,Talamban, Cebu, Philippines. This was where I learned disipline and art fundamentals. Though I love to paint, I found myself leaning toward design and computer-based work. I learned Photoshop and Illustrator from friends and mostly from youtube and I have applied these new skills to make many things. I've saved tons of money on birthday gifts, thanks to my creativity!
If you get the chance to talk to me, you'd see that I'm quite friendly and easy to work with. I love my work because it allows me to work side-by-side with my awesome boyfriend at home, eat the best home cooking in the universe, enjoy my leisure time watching old school movies and series, and live comfortably with an occasional pizza or two.
A Word About What I Do
When I started freelance work, I made very simple rules and these haven't failed me. If I'm going to do it, do it well and make sure it's my best. This is what makes it all worthwile for me and, personally, I love helping people. I go straight to business, I want to get things done in a timely manner, and I make sure that I have good chemistry with my clients. I value honesty above all else and I do my best to stay optimistic and enthusiastic.
